Patrik Schumacher is the principal of Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) and a leading architectural theorist. He joined ZHA in 1988, co-authoring all projects with Zaha Hadid, and co-founded the Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory (AADRL) in 1996. He is widely recognized for coining the term 'Parametricism', positioning it as the new epochal style for the 21st century. More recently, he has advanced the concept of 'Tectonism', integrating engineering and fabrication logics into parametric design, and champions the use of AI and generative algorithms in architecture.
